Inductive Reasoning

Today, we took details and created general statements using the following method:
1. We read out article about the cane toad.
2. Each child wrote a detail on an index card.
3. I drew a triangle & a circle on a large piece of paper, and students sorted their details into one or the other.
4. We categorized each area.
5. We created a generalized statement about the cane toad from these categories.
Each student applied this method to an animal of choice, real or mythical, and presented their generalized statement to the class.
